Shadowsnow's Death

Skyfall leaped onto the Pine and started to call out hunting patrols. "Softcall, Willowheart and Fernspot. Head in the direction of the ShadeClan border but don't get too close." She ordered and the three cats nodded and started to walk towards the thorn tunnel. Softcall suddenly stopped and said: "I smell Lightpaw." At that exact moment, Lightpaw burst into the camp, breathing hard and a gash on his shoulder. Skyfall jumped down and ran towards the apprentice. "Where?" She demanded. "PineClan border." He let out but Skyfall was already hurrying away. "No, no. Please no!" Skyfall shouted out loud. She skidded across the dead leaves and leapt past a small stream that ran from the PineClan border. She followed it and was met with a gruesome sight. Shadowsnow, Smokeberry and Lionclaw. "No!" Skyfall wailed and was relieved that at least Smokeberry and Lionclaw were alive, their tails and ears twitching. "No, no, NO!" Skyfall yowled and slowly walked over to Shadowsnow. He had a gash on his head and hind leg, and three claw marks on his back and stomach. "No. Shadowsnow." She whispered and laid down next to him, their noses touching. "Shadowsnow. Don't leave me. Please, come back. I love you." Skyfall muttered, her voice cracked with grief. Smokeberry came up behind her, limping slightly. "There was nothing we could do. He died bravely, fighting until the last moment." "Who?" Skyfall asked softly. "WHO?" She  screeched at her father. "Sagebreeze." Smokeberry meowed. Skyfalls eyes turned dull with anger and grief. "I'll flay her! I'll rip her fur off!" Skyfall said grimly. "Let's get him back to camp." Smokeberry ignored her comment and turned to look at the fallen warrior. Fresh tears welled in Skyfalls eyes. "A moment alone. Please?" She asked weakly. He nodded and helped Lionclaw stand up. They slowly walked to the camp and disappeared in the tree. "Shadowsnow!" Skyfall let out a wail and crumpled onto the ground by his body.
