Sparklesun's Fall

"So. Finally warriors." Sparklesun laughed and Skyfall nodded. "And finally, we have free time. No patrols nor fights. Just us without Foxstrike and Shallowpool." Skyfall added and Sparklesun smiled. "Come on! I want to show you something!" Sparklesun exclaimed and hurried off into the direction of the PineClan border. Skyfall sighed and pelted after her. They leapt over the small stream but then turned left. "Where are we going?" Skyfall called. "You'll see!" Was Sparklesun's reply. Skyfall snorted in annoyance but she followed her sister. Soon, the tortoiseshell she-cat stopped and Skyfall almost ran into her. "Watch it! One false move and you're sleeping with StarClan tonight!" Sparklesun snapped. "What is this?" Skyfall breathed out. They were standing at the edge of a massive hole. It was pitch black and even when Skyfall strained to see the end, her eyes didn't reach that far. A horrible stench of Twolegs hung around it, making it seem worse than it actually was. "The Carrion Hole. Sootwave brought me here once. He said it was dug by Twolegs and that they throw away food here. A total waste if you ask me." Sparklesun shook her head angrily. Sky fall was silent for a while. "How come I didn't know about it?" She asked, voice filled with hurt. Sparklesun shrugged."Sootwave told me that very few cats know about this at all." "But Oceanwind is the deputy!" Skyfall argued. Sparklesun shrugged again. "I don't know." Was all she said. Skyfall sighed. "Let's go back. But thank you for showing it to me." She added, trying to sound grateful. "No problem!" Sparklesun meowed excitedly. The gentle breeze has grown into a giant wind and the two she-cats were struggling to move away from the hole. A branch flew off a nearby tree and was heading for Skyfall. She ducked but forgot to warn Sparklesun. With a giant yowl of terror, she skidded across the wet dirt and into the Carrion Hole, just barely catching her claws into the soft, wet soil. "Sparklesun!" Skyfall shouted and tried to make her way to her sister. "Skyfall! Help me!" The tortoiseshell she-cat pleaded, her ears flat across her head and her paws already slipping. "Hang on!" Skyfall meowed and slowly was inching her way to the hole. When she was about two fox lengths away, another gust of wind almost made her topple over. In her desperate situation to save herself, she ran frantically, unloosing soil down on her sister. With a last screech of fear, Sparklesun's claws slipped and she fell into the Carrion Hole. "No! Sparklesun!" Skyfall yowled at the top. There was nothing she could do anymore, just hope that StarClan would claim her sister quickly and not let her suffer.
