Skyfall woke up with a start. Last nights' nightmare kept replaying in her mind. Sighing, she crept out of the warriors den and surveyed the clearing. Not a paw in sight. Smiling, she made her way to the camp entrance. No sound was heard as she slipped through the thorn tunnel. Enjoying the night, she walking to the Stepping Stone Lake. Skyfall emerged from the trees and padded softly to the lakes' edge. She sat down and watched the moonshine make its' way across the huge lake. "Hey." A voice said quietly beside her. Skyfall let out a yelp and backed away, almost slipping into the lake. The unknown cat quickly grabbed her by the scruff and hauled her back. "Thanks." She breathed out. "No problem." The voice said and Skyfall recognized it now. "Shadowsnow." He let out a chuckle. "Took you long enough." Shadowsnow smiled at her, his eyes gleaming in the moonlight. Suddenly feeling self-conscious, Skyfall looked away at the lake. "What's wrong?" He asked, his voice betraying the concern his face wasn't showing. "Nothing." Skyfall replied and still refused to meet his eyes. "Look at me." Shadowsnow ordered and Skyfall reluctantly lifted her head and gazed back into his eyes, blue clashing green. "Now, tell me. Is there something wrong?" Shadowsnow asked softly. She shook her head. He smiled grimly. "There is. Are you worried that I won't do this?" Slowly, he leaned forwards, touching his nose with hers. Skyfall closed her eyes and leaned into him, taking in his sweet scent. "I love you." He muttered into her ear. She gasped and jerked backwards. Hurt filled his emerald green eyes and he turned away, walking back to camp. "Wait!" Skyfall called after him. Shadowsnow turned back, glaring at the white-brown tabby she-cat. "What?" He snapped. Skyfall swallowed before answering. "That didn't mean anything. I was just surprised. I-I love you too." She whispered the last four words. Relief flooded his gaze and he rushed forwards, brushing against Skyfall. "Thank StarClan." He muttered and licked her cheek. Skyfall blushed and looked shyly at him. He was gazing at her with wonder, as if she was the only cat left in the world. They sat next to each other, watching the surface of the lake, pelts brushing and tails twined together.
