Chapter One
“Posionmoon! Get your lazy pelt up and join the dawn patrol!” Blazefire’s yowl roused the yellow-orange tom and he grumbled, slowly blinking sleep out of his eyes. “Posionmoon!” Another screech. “I’m coming!” He yowled back and made his way out of the den, where the white-orange she-cat was waiting for him. “I told you to-“ “Don’t care.” Poisonmoon hissed, interrupting the deputy mid-speech, snickering when she cast angry glares at him. He joined up with Midnightmoon and Pineleaf and together, they headed to the PineClan border. “Huh. That’s weird. Their scent marker isn’t renewed.” Pineleaf meowed, frowning. Poisonmoon just shrugged. “So what?” Midnightmoon glared at him. “So? That could mean that they’re in trouble, and if they are in trouble, we should help.” She moewed and Pineleaf nodded, backing her up. “You’re acting as if you belong to ThunderClan! Do you think you’re like them? And more importantly, did you forget our Clan originated from ShadowClan, not ThunderClan! So act like it!” Poisonmoon hissed at his clanmates, who looked at their paws, ashamed. “If you think that you belong to ThunderClan, go ahead and join them! But if you don’t, shut your jaws and let’s finish this patrol.” Poisonmoon wipped around and stalked along the border, his clanmates trailing behind him.
“Whisperstar! We got news!” Poisonmoon yowled as they entered the camp. “Yes?” The black-white tom jumped from the Pine and next to Poisonmoon. “There was no fresh scent along the PineClan border, not even a renewed scent marker.” Posionmoon reported and watched as his leader’s eyes gleamed, thinking about the PineClan raid that they have been planning for moons. “That’s perfect!” Whisperstar meowed excitedly. “Thank you Poisonmoon. I can always rely on you.” “With pleasure.” Posionmoon bowed his head and watched as his leader struggled to climb up the Pine. Soon. He thought and joined the crowd of cats that already joined beneath their leader. “Cat’s of LightningClan! The raid that we have been planning is going to be accomplished today! We will attack immediately! Everybody, remember what you have to do!” And with that, Whisperstar slowly climbed off the Pine and started to call the cats for the raid. Poisonmoon smiled when his name was called.
The whole clan was soon creeping towards the PineClan border. If a patrol say them, they would be doomed. But luckily, here was no one at the border. “LightningClan, advance.” Whisperstar meowed softly and the clan surged forwards, blending in the trees easily and making their way to the PineClan camp. Poisonmoon found it first, crouching at the top of the hollow they made their camp in, his eyes gleaming dangerously. He had to wait for the signal before attacking. Right now, he was content with just spying on the cats, looking for their weaknesses. They were all thin, the tough leaf-bare was taking a toll on the PineClan cats. More leders than warriors and no apprentices. This will be easy. Poisonmoon thought and glanced up, catching Whisperstar’s eyes. His leader nodded and Poisonmoon let out a fearsome yowl and plunged into the hollow. Immediately, the LightningClan cats did the same and followed the yellow-orange tom. He reached the first PineClan warrior and unsheathed his claws, sinking them into his fur. The hollow exploded with yowls and screeches of both clans, as the PineClan warriors struggled to overthrow their enemy in the small time they have. Poisonmoon was a raging beast, attacking left and right, sinking his claws and fangs into anything soft that came close until he heard the shriek. He stopped everything and hurried to the sound, ignoring everything else. Blazefire was on the ground, trapped between Woolwhiskers claws. The white-gray tom was smiling at the LightningClan deputy, blood dripping from his fangs. Poisonmoon bowled into him, biting into his throat. Woolwhisker coughed and blood sprayed onto Poisonmoon’s face, blinding him. Icestride, the PineClan medicine cat, rushed forwards and gently dragged Woolwhisker away from him, glaring at Poisonmoon. He smiled and turned to Blazefire. She was watching him with interest. “This is the part where you say thank you.” Poisonmoon meowed and disappered under another tom. This time, it was Blazefire who rescued him. “Now, you should say thank you.” She teased him. “LightningClan, retreat!” Whisperstar’s yowl sounded across the hollow. Imediately, the LightningClan warriors untangled themselves from the fight and ran. PineClan was stunned for a moment before setting up a victory yowl that haunted Poisonmoon as he ran back to his territory.
